Would-be radio shock jocks can now begin broadcasting from home with the new Station Manager software from ubroadcast, which lets users host live talk radio or music shows on the Internet.

Ubroadcasters can not only broadcast live at any time; they can also upload MP3s and WAV files of music, commercials and other prerecorded content for their stations. Soon to come are new features that will allow interactive exchanges between broadcasters and listeners.

Since Internet radio is not subject to FCC decency restrictions, ubroadcast is promoting the ability to broadcast “uncensored” content. However, the company does ban hate speech and defamation, and requires users to comply with copyright laws.

The Station Manager software is available as a free download, as is the Player software, which allows users to listen to ubroadcast stations. Ubroadcast also offers premium content, including high-definition quality music stations.
